The Windy City
Situated on the shore of Lake Michigan, Chicago is home to about 3 million residents. But here, the bright-light excitement of the massive urban center meets the small-town charm of the Midwest. Here, you'll find the second largest building in the Western Hemisphere, the second-busiest airport in the world, and the fourth most walkable city in the US. Chicago hosts numerous museums, parks, theaters, and attractions, as well as fantastic shopping and dining venues.
Thinkin' Lincoln
Outside of Chicago, Illinois offers plenty to explore. History buffs will enjoy the Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, and fans of architecture will find numerous Frank Lloyd Wright buildings throughout the state. For outdoorsy types, there are plenty of trails to hike at the Shawnee National Forest or Starved Rock State Park. Illinois has a little something for everyone!
